He appeared in the census in 1850 in Wayne County, Kentucky, it showed John in the home of his parents and it
showed Susan age 27, daughter Mary age 2, and Susan Frost, age 47, mother in the household of Nancy Wallace.
He as Private in the Union Army in Company K, 12th Infantry Regiment on January 1, 1864 in Kentucky.
He was a POW on November 29, 1864 in Spring Hill, Anderson County, Tennessee.
He was released on December 15, 1864 in Camp Chase, Ohio.
He was
Discharged on June 20, 1865 in Kentucky.
He died in 1872.
