He attended the 11 years of school offered in Chatfield and went to Corsicana for the twelfth grade where he had the top grades in his class. He attended Metropolitan Business College in Dallas, TX, for one year and then in 1925 started Southern Methodist University where he worked for the athletic department. He transferred to Texas Technological College the next year, when Coach E. Y. Freeland was recruited from SMU to Texas Tech and took Hubert with him. Hubert received a B. A. in Business Administration from Texas Technological College in 1929 and an M. A. in English in 1930, one of the first two masters degrees awarded by Texas Tech. He married Lois Elizabeth Gable one week after receiving his M. A.

These folks included a brother-in-law, his sister, a sister-in-law, his mother, and his mother-in-law.
Funeral services were held on 17 December 1992 at St. Luke's UMC in Houston with Dr. Mark Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Old Chatfield Cemetery at Chatfield, TX, where his parents, brother, and father's parents are buried. Graveside services were performed by Rev. Steve Smith of the Chatfield United Methodist Church.
Searching of any information on Jonothan Harvey, probably of New Hampshire. He married 8 Nov. 1831, in Shipdon (?) Canada, to Sarah Wright, born 10 Aug. 1810 in Ovid, New York (Seneca Co.). She was the daughter of Lewis Wright, who fought in the War of 1812. Of eleven children born to Jonothan Harvey and Sarah Wright the known names are: Lemuel, Lewis, Enoch, John, and Anna G. The first three are said to have served in the Civil War and later lived in Sechlerville, Wis. John later lived in Cutler, Minn.
Anna G. Harvey was born 1834 probably in Canada. At about age 20 she married John Abercrombie, a Scottish bookkeeper. He was 20 years her senior. One daughter born to this marriage was Sarah Harvey Abercrombie born 26 March 1853 in Danville, Quebec, Canada. Anna married second Eithimer Burgess and moved to Black River Falls, Wisconsin where she died 12 September 1887.
Have found many John/Jonothan Harveys in New Hampshire but cannot connect them.

BEAVER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA: HERVEY/HARVEY FAMILIES
[In an attempt to aid researchers working on the Hervey families of the Ohio Valley in PA, WV, KY, and OH, a series of articles is being published including a number of source documents from the area. The following are records from Beaver Co., PA.]
Beaver Co., PA was created in 1800, by combining parts of Allegheny Co. and Washington Co. It's location is north of Washington Co. on the border of the West Virginia panhandle.
The earliest Hervey on record in Beaver Co. was William Hervey, appearing in South Beaver Township in 1800, the year the county was formed. William was over 45 years of age in 1800, making him born before about 1755. The household members in his family, as shown on the 1800 census, were as follows:
South Beaver Twp:
male >45 (William) b. before 1755
female 26-45 b. 1755-1774
female 16-26 b. 1774-1784
male 16-26 b. 1774-1784
female 10-16 b. 1784-1790
male 10-16 b. 1784-1790
William Hervey resided in a part of Beaver Co. that had formerly been part of Allegheny Co. Assuming that he would have been in the area for at least ten years, he would have been shown on the 1790 census as a resident of Allegheny Co. Since Allegheny Co. records are to be published at a later time, it is sufficient now to say that there was a William Hervey shown on the Allegheny Co. census in 1790, who was perhaps this same William.
The 1810 Census of Beaver Co. showed a William Harvey and a James Hærvey (spelling not clear) in Shenango Township and a Thos. Hervy in Borough Township as follows:
Shenango Twp:

Continuing to follow the Herveys of Beaver Co. through the census records, one finds James Hervey and John Hervey, who seem to be linked to the William and James Hervey of 1810 census. James and John Hervey lived just 4 houses away from each other on the census in Little Beaver Township in 1820:
