Beverly was born in Amherst County, Virginia, lived for a while in West Virginia, and later in life lived in Lakeland, Florida.
He was a graduate of Washington & Lee University in 1910 and was a civil engineer.
He began researching the Higginbotham Family Tree in the early 1900's and worked closely with William Montgomery Sweeny and Lenora Elizabeth Higginbotham Sweeny, two noted Higginbotham researchers. He published his works to family members in 1960.
He had in his possession the family Bible of Absalom Higginbotham, his great grandfather.
Margaret's father was William Davidson.
