Gladys Hickinbotham & Elmer Schneider

Former Residents Of Waldo Making Their Home Here

Residing in this city at 1802 N. Thirteenth street are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schneider, former residents of Waldo, whose marriage took place Sept. 19, at St. Paul's Lutheran church in the town of Lima. The bride is the former Miss Gladys Hickinbotham.

Attendants at the wedding were: Miss Pearl Curtis, niece of the bride, maid of honor; Miss Carita Scharinger, bridesmaid; Norman Schneider, brother of the bridegroom, best man, and Herman Behr, a cousin, groomsman.

A wedding dinner at the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Schneider, Sr., at Waldo, followed the nuptial service. Mr. and Mrs. Schneider took a two-weeks' wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The Rev. Sylvester Van Berkel, a member of the faculty at St. Catherine’s High School, Racine, read the nuptial mass which united in marriage his sister, Miss Agnes Van Berkel, 817 W. Franklin Street, and Glenn Hickinbotham, son of Mrs. Mary Hickinbotham, 1419 N. Richmond Street, at 10 o’clock this morning  at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Miss Helen Van Berkel, Milwaukee, sister of the bride, and Harold Deprez, Appleton, attended the couple, and Lawrence Emons and Lloyd Merkl were ushers. During the ceremony Lester Balliet sang “On This Day”, “Ave Maria” and “O Lord, I am Not Worthy.”

Covers were laid out for 22 at the wedding dinner this noon at the Hearthstone Tea Room. In addition to the members of the bridal party, those present were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hickinbotham of Shawano, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hickinbotham, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Reitzner, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Van Berkel, Lester Balliet, the Rev. Father Eugene, Father Van Berkel, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Van Berkel, Mrs. Mary Hickinbotham, Miss Mary Van Berkel and Walter Van Berkel.

About 150 persons have been invited to the reception which will be held at 7:30 tonight at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mr. Hickinbotham and his bride will make their home at 1025 W. Franklin Street. The bridegroom, a graduate of Appleton High School, is employed at the Balliet Supply Company.

Rings Exchanged In Catholic Rites

In a double ring ceremony at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary Catholic church Miss Monica A. Hickinbotham became the bride of John V. Sahli, son of the senior Mr. and Mrs. Sahli, 801 Jean street, Neenah.

The Rev. Gerald Falk officiated at the mass and the bride was escorted to the altar

by her father. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn A. Hickinbotham, 320

S. Memorial drive.

Honor attendant was Mrs. Joseph D. Laux, Appleton, and Miss Beverly Aures, Appleton, was the aide. The bride's sisters, Deborah and Rochelle Hickinbotham, served as flower girls.

The bridegroom asked his brother, James Sahli, Neenah to be his best man and

Richard Stadler, Appleton, was groomsman. Ushers were Thomas Kuether and Raymond Batley, both of Menasha.

A noon dinner, evening reception and dance will be held at the American Legion clubhouse and after a skiing honeymoon the couple will live in Menasha. The bride attended Appleton High school while her husband is a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High school, Menasha.

Couple Will Be Married In Alabama

MENASHA — Miss Sandra Grace Higginbotham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Higginbotham, Birmingham, Ala., will marry Michael David Voss, formerly of Menasha, in a 10 a.m. service Saturday, March 11.

The Rev. John Putman will perform the ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Huntsville, Ala. A reception at Willowbrook Country Club, Huntsville, will follow.

Mr. Voss, son of Mr. and Mrs. David G. Voss, 520 Eighth St., Menasha, graduated from Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh, where he was affiliated with Pi Sigma fraternity.

Miss Higginbotham graduated from the University of Alabama, where she was associated with Alpha Chi Omega and Phi Upsilon Amicron, professional and honorary sororities.

Both arc employed by the Boeing Company.

The engagement of Miss Constance M. Cruse to Thomas G. Hickinbotham is being revealed by her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Cruse, Whitewater. Mr.  Hickinbotham’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hickinbotham, Appleton.

Mr. Hickinbotham, an alumnus of Whitewater State University, is undergoing basic training at Ft. Dix, N.J. His fiancé is a junior at White water State University. No definite wedding date has been set.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hildebrandt, 827 W Spencer St. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hickinbotham, 2615 N. Union St.

Maid of honor was Miss Jane Krejcha. Bridesmaids were Miss Barbara Hickinbotham, Miss Jean Buck and Miss Loretta Brandt. Miss Barbara Buck was junior attendant.

Best man was Thomas Hickinbotham with David Rickert. Darnel Trettin and David  Falk as groomsmen. Ushers were Thomas Hildebrandt and Jeffrey Kamps.

The couple greeted guests al the Country Aire Club before leaving on a wedding trip to Illinois. They will live in Appleton

Miss Barbara L. Kramer was maid of honor and Misses Deborah and Julie Hickinbotham were bridesmaids.

Best man, Roger K. Stroh, was accompanied by Marvin E. Smith. Thomas J. Smith, Henry J. Smith and Donald D. Johnson.

Gerald L. Kuzenski, best man, was accompanied by Richard and Thomas Kuzenski and Al Roberts.

The former Miss Hickinbotham is a secretary at the Outagamie County Medical Center. Mr. Kuzenski is with Bergstrom Paper Co., Neenah.
