"Grandpa Wells - W. W. Wells of 16 Marshall St., Norwalk - fought in the Civil War after coming over from England. His six brothers who came over with him in the South and fought in the Civil War also. The Wells Island in Maine was granted to the Wells family by the King of England a good many genearations ago. The Island is still in Maine and still called Wells Island. Grandpa Wells worked for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad."

This is confusing since William W. Wells was born in Ohio. .. Bonita Hillmer11

"Two More Drunks Landed in Cooler
Police Discover Tramps Enjoying a Bebanch and Place Them Under Arrest.
The police picked up three more drunks at noon Tuesday. Two of them, supposed to be tramps, were picked up near the Parsch Lumber company's yards. It was first believed that one of them had been robbed, but the report appears to be without foundation.
One of the party, Fred Wells, of Wellington, evidently lost his way and was picked up near the river. In his possession were two pint bottles of whiskey, which supply he probably wanted to take along to his home in Wellington."8,3

Suffering from the effects of various "joy fests," on Decoration Day Oscar Garry, of Ridgeville, Fred Wells, of Wellington, and Charles Kenney and Steve Joseph, both of this city were housed in the city prison for recovery. All pleaded guilty to the charge of intoxication and were each fined $5 and costs, at their police court hearing, Wednesday morning."9,3
