    Evelyn said:
His first wife was .....Jordan who had no children. Second wife, unknown.>

That is interesting because Redmond Wells, (age 24) and Elizabeth B. Wells,
(age 26) lived at Household 174/176 at Upper Town Creek Township in 1870
Edgecombe Co., NC, when Eli Boon and his children and grandchildren lived
at Household 175/177. I knew that Redmond's first wife's given name and
initial was Elizabeth B. You are saying that her surname was Jordan.
Cool! Redmond/Redmon married Elizabeth around 1870, I think, because they
were enumerated together in that census, with no children listed. He
married Fanny Florine Davis sometime after 1907 because Elizabeth died 29
July 1907. Redmond, Elizabeth and Fannie are all three buried at the
Redmond Wells Cemetery at Rocky Mount Township in Nash Co., NC.

    Elizabeth Wells
    born: 05 Feb. 1842
    died:29 July 1907
    Inscription: Wife of Redmond Wells

    Fannie Florine Davis Wells
    born: 27 December 1871
    died: 03 March 1954
    Inscription: Wife of Redmond Wells
    Father: Henry Albert Davis
    Mother: Amanda Williams Batchelor

    Redmond Wells
    born: 12 April 1847
    died: 28 April 1951
    Father: Redmund D. Wells
    Mother: Emily R. L. Taylor

In 1880, Redman (age 32) and Elizabeth (age 35) Wells lived at Rocky Mount
Township, Household 79. Also in their household was a girl age 13, named
Rinda Daws, who was said to be their servant/cook. Remember, Eli Boon
lived at Household 69 in Rocky Mount Township in 1880. IF this Rinda Daws
is Arrinda Boon, do you think the Daws surname is some kind of brain blip
on the part of the census taker OR is it, perhaps, her biological father's
surname? OR, do you think that this is a major coincidence, that a
13-year-old female named Rinda lived with Redman Wells and his first wife?
    :-)

I ran a search of Daws/Dawes who were heads of houehold in 1870 North
Carolina. I came up with the following, all spelled Dawes and ALL living
in Upper Town Creek, Edgecombe Co., NC in 1870:
    Alfred G.age 28on page 239
    Benjaminage 30on page 234
    Hilliardage 35on page 238
Johnage 67on page 232--Let's HOPE we can rule him out as the father!
    Milesage 40on page 234
    Redding B.age 30on page 238
Wellsage 27on page 232--This one is interesting, given the fact that
Redmond Wells is said to have reared Arrinda!

It is v-e-r-y interesting that in 1870, Eady J. and Arrinda lived in the household that appeared on page 237A of the Edgecombe Co., NC Fed. Cen.--all around and among the pages listed above!

I didn't write it down when I came across it earlier but I am almost certain that I also made a mental note that Redman Wells was in close proximity to this Boon family, or some of its members, in the 1900 Nash Co., NC Federal Census, as well. I'll have to check on that and get back with you, when I have more time to do so.

    L8R,
    Cheryl
