The Last Will and Testament of Jacob Hinshaw


Last will and testament of an unidentified Jacob Hinshaw;

I Jacob Hinshaw of the County of Randolph and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last Will and testament, in manner and form following, that is to say:   First that my executors (hereinafter named) shall provide my body a decent burial, and pay all funeral expence, together with my just debts out of the Moneys that may first come into their hands as a part of my estate   Item. I give and devise to Abigail Hinshaw Daughter of Stephen Hinshaw One Hundred Dollars to be paid to her by my executors of Moneys falling into their hands as part of my estate, also all moneys and property that I have heretofore given said Abigail Hinshaw as her right and property forever. Item I give and bequeath to Jane Hinshaw Daughter of Stephen Hinshaw One Hundred Dollars and one black Walnut Chest the Money to be paid by my executors in the same manner as the last bequest   also all Moneys and property that I havetofore given said Jane Hinshaw as her right and property forever. My will is that Abigail Hinshaw and Jane Hinshaw receive the same bequeath to them as soon as my executors get the above amount in their hand as part of my estate.   Item I give and bequeath to Ruth Hinshaw Daughter of Stephen Hinshaw One Hundred Dollars to be paid her by my executors when she arrives at the age of Twenty one years.
Item I give and bequeath to Hannah Hinshaw daughter of Stephen Hinshaw Fifty Dollars to be paid her by my executors when she arrives at the age of Twenty one years.   Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Hinshaw Daughter of Stephen Hinshaw Fifty Dollars to be paid her by my executors when she arrives at the age of Twenty one years.   Item I give and bequeath to the youngest daughter of Stephen Hinshaw (not yet named) Fifty Dollars to be paid her by my executors when she arrives at the age of Twenty one years.   Item I give and bequeath to Assenith Cox wife of David Cox & Daughter of Stephen Hinshaw One Hundred and forty Dollars to be paid her by my executors as soon as collected.   also all moneys and property that I have heretofore given to said Assenith Cox as her right and property forever.   Item I give and bequeath to Stephen Hinshaw the balance of my Money if any, also all my notes, Bonds and accounts to his own proper use. And I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty Friends Stephen Hinshaw and David Cox my lawfull executors to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning thereof and every part and every clause of the same hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other Wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In witness I the said Jacob Hinshaw do hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th Day of November A.D. 1847

witnesses thereto.
