Benny was born on November 24, 1884. He was the youngest boy in
the family and grew up in Amory. He probably worked with his brother
Curtis at their father's store, as both wound up owning general stores of
their own.
Ben married Lola, from Kosciusko, Attala County, Mississippi, and moved down there for good. He was
one of the original incorporators of the Kosciusko Cremery. He went
in with a Parham in 1910 and they bought a corner building in Kosciusko to
run a general merchandise store, calling it Littleton's. This family
dry goods store, with its wooden floors, huge pot-bellied stove, and wooden
tables as features, existed until it was closed in 1968.
From time to time he would come back and visit the family in Amory, and
they sometimes went down to visit him. He and Lola did not have any
children that we know of.
Ben died in September of 1972, at the age of 87. We don't know about
Lola, but they were probably buried down in Kosciusko.
