Joseph Booker Blaylock

Booker Blaylock Booker was one of the middle children of Bob and Polly (Webb) Blaylock.  He was born in 1880 and on September 7, 1904, married Maude Nethery.  Booker made his living farming.  They had three children together over the next six years.  But in 1910, at the age of 30, he caught pneumonia and died.  Maude married again after Booker passed away Jim Honeycutt, with whom she had several other children.  

Booker was buried in the Pickle Cemetery near Sipsy-Fork in Monroe County, Mississippi.  Even though he passed away relatively young, we are lucky to have a few photographs of him.

Inez Blaylock Dodd Zelma Inez Blaylock (md. Irvin Franklin Dodd)
     Inez lived a long and happy life.  She and Irvin had eight daughters.  When she passed away in 1999, at the age of 93, she had over 102 living descendants!  She and Irvin, who was a farmer, living in Monroe County almost their entire lives.  She is buried at the Camp Cemetery there.

Inez Dodd
    ABERDEEN - Inez Blaylock Dodd, 93, died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle in Columbus after a long illness.  She was born July 10, 1905, in Monroe County to Joseph Booker and Maud Nethery Blaylock.  She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, living mostly in the Quincy community.  She married Irvin Dodd in 1933.  She was a homemaker and a member of Quincy Methodist-Baptist Church.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with the Rev. Wayne Vines officiating.  Burial will be in Camp Cemetery.Irvin Dodd; Inez' husband
    Survivors include her husband, Irvin Dodd of Aberdeen; four daughters, Alice Hawkins and her husband, John E., Mae Robertson and Betty Dodd, all of Aberdeen, and Sarah Sanders and her husband, Glen Allen, of Columbus; two sisters, Flonnie Morrow of Gattman and Fay Andrews of Bartahatchie; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by four daughters, Mary Frances Price, Martha Ann Carter, Maxine Croom and Earline Perry; her parents; a brother, Halon Blaylock; and a sister, Ruby Estelle Honeycutt.
    Her grandsons will be pallbearers.
    Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruby Estelle Blaylock (md. John Buford Honeycutt)
     Ruby Estelle married John Buford, who was also from Monroe County, sometime around 1926.  They had three children together.  Ruby Estelle passed away in 1986, at the age of 79, in Homestead, near Miami, Florida.  She was buried there.

Halon "Bud" Blaylock (never married)
     Bud never married but always lived in Monroe County.  He was buried in the Cockerham Cemetery in Monroe County, Mississippi.
