Julie was one of the youngest children in one of the largest families in the Webb line. She had 15 siblings growing up, though a few did not live very long. She was born in March of 1869 to Anthony Irvin and Narcissa Jane Webb. She lived in Monroe County, Mississippi for almost her entire life. At the age of 20, she married William Green Wise, who was also from Monroe County.
William Green Wise was a hard worker and worked his children hard, keeping the lands he inherited together and also supporting two sisters. Only fourteen when his father died and in the terrible aftermath of the Civil War it was some accomplishment indeed. His mother must also have been a very strong and capable person. He married at the age of 36, late by today's standards and even more so then. Aunt Beatrice would tell that her father William would have them working in the fields when the neighbors would be passing by at their leisure. Grandfather William Green died of cancer of the face. He had a mole on his face and while walking in the woods, jabbed a twig into it and it became cancerous. He was 80 years old at the time.
Julie lived for another 18 years after he passed away though. The couple had six children. Two died at early ages, two moved away (one to Texas and one to Louisiana), and two stayed in Monroe County.
Julie and William Green are buried in the Blair Cemetery in Monroe County.
