Mary Emma Webb was born in 1875.  She was the oldest girl in the family.  She grew up in Mooreville and Amory and at the age of 20, in 1895, she married Henry Dawson York, who was born in 1871 up in Tennessee.  His parents were from Georgia and he became a conductor on the Frisco Railroad.

Mary Emma and Henry had four children together, and raised them all in Amory.  In 1930, the census recorded them here:

Mary was a housewife and cooked quite a lot too.  She always had pretty flowers at the house in town.  She was hard headed too!  She and Henry both had long lives.  Henry passed away at the age of 84, in 1955.  Mary Emma passed away at the age of 93, on October 10, 1968.  She is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.

Not much is known about Herbert, but he was born in 1898 in Amory and certainly had not married by 1930. He was a conductor on the Frisco Railroad for 50 years!  When he passed away in Amory on April 21, 1982, he was 84 years old.  He was buried in the Masonic Cemetery there.

Hansell Norwood York (md. Miss. Sanders)
I am somewhat confused with Hansell, but I know he was born on November 26, 1899.  He married in 1924 and had three sons.  He was a switchman on the Railroad, he was the manager for the Amory Country Club, and he was the manager at the Starkville Hotel over the course of his life.  He passed away in Amory on September 25, 1973, at the age of 73.  He was buried at Haughton Memorial Park in Amory.
