Annie was the middle child in the family.  She was born on July 9, 1889 east of Plantersville, Lee County, Mississippi.  When she was 20 years old, in 1910, she married Ben Jasper Estes, five years her senior, and the couple settled in the same area she was raised.

Ben and Annie were good hardworking people.  They farmed, truck farmed, grew flowers for market, and milked cows.  Ben taught school and assessed taxes also.  They waited quite a while before having any children.  Benjamin Morgan Estes was born seven years after they married, in 1917.

They were good church-going Baptists and attended church at Plantersville.  They worked hard and played very little but were happy and loved each other like sweethearts until their end.  He passed away on December 1, 1965 and she passed away on April 15, 1972.  They are both buried at Lee Memorial Cemetery, Verona, Lee County, Mississippi.
