Nathan Z. Webb
Nathan Z. Webb

Nathan Z. Webb was born in 1860 in Lamar County, Alabama to Samuel Worth Webb and Rhoda Arminta Chaney.  He grew up in Lamar County, but when his father died or left, his mother moved to Pontotot County.  In 1886, at the age of 26, married Martha Nickels, who at that time was 39 years old.  She had already had a family and had had a few children that Nathan and her raised, but Nathan is not known to have had any children of his own.

Nathan is the only Webb known to have gone to Pontotoc County, though it is just a little to the west of Lee and Itawamba Counties.  He is found in the following census reports:

1880 Pontotoc County, Mississippi Census
John Cheney with John 13, William 12, Adison 10, Mary 9, Nancy 5, Franklin 4, Thomas 2, N.Z. Webb 21 son (stepson).

1900 Pontotoc County, Mississippi Census
Nathan Z. Webb age 39 married to Mary L (Nickels) 53 for 14 years with stepchildren Columbus L. Nickels 22, Margaret Nickels 20. Nathan was born in Al.

We do not know what happened to Nathan, or when he died, but he is probably buried in Pontotoc County.  Being the only child of Samuel Worth Webb, and not having any children of his own, when he died, this part of the family line died with him.

Nathan Z. Webb is not known to have had any children
