Ozema Ellie Webb Miles
Ozema Ellie Webb

Ozema Webb Ozema Ellie Webb was born on October 5, 1897, in Itawamba County, Mississippi.  She was the oldest child of Moman Webb and Easter Truelove Webb.  Her father died when she was ten years old.  She helped her mother, who never remarried, raise her four younger brothers.  They lived around many of their Webb cousins, in the Clay Community, and it was a man from nearby whom she married.  On March 23, 1915, she married Ira Matison "Mat" Miles.  He was 22 and she was 17.  The photo here must show her and just about that age.

She and Mat had five children of their own.  Strangely enough, the first was a girl, then the other four were boys (just like herself and her sibilings).  They lived in the Tilden Community, all their lives in Itawamba County.  Mat was a farmer.  They kept their old home place and the youngest of their children still owns it, keeping it and the barn up to appear just as it did when they lived in it.

They lived there until she passed away in 1974, at the age of 78.  Mat lived until 1985, when he passed away at the age of 93.  They are both buried at the Itawamba Memorial Gardens in the Clay Community.
