~ MARLBOROUGH'S SCHOOLS ~

 How they developed

Marlborough's oldest school, No. 10, demolished in the mid 1960's

Hildreth School

Washington Street School now the Bessy Freeman School and MPS Headquarters

Bigelow School

Pleasant Street School which became the Mitchell School and now the Boys Club

Rice School

Richer School

Kane School

Jaworek School

High School

A note:  Those people who lived in Marlborough since the early 1960's have paid through their real estate taxes for the following schools.

The new High School which became the Middle school
The new High School located on Bolton street which replaced the Middle School
The Kane School
The Richer School
The Jaworek School original building.

They are currently paying with their real estate taxes the

Addition to the Middle School
The remoldeling of the Jaworek School

And there are a few Malborough folks who are still living and still able to own their own homes who paid for the addition to the new High School which is now known as the Walker Building.

So, when you see us around town, say thanks for all we have done for the school children of Marlborough.
