It is possible that Elden is buried in the Seattle, WA area, because his wife Sarah appears as a married woman on the 1920 census there, in the household of her daughter, Marcia Durkee. The Civil War Pension application Sarah filed, where she is listed as a widow, is dated July 11, 1924. Sarah moved to Los Angeles with Marcia and grandchildren in 1928, according to the Durkee Family Newsletter, where she died and is buried without Elden in 1947.
Another possibility is that Elden is in fact enumerated on the 1920 Census as Edens C. Parlin, Inmate of the National Military Home in Sawtelle, Los Angeles Co., CA. This individual is 81 years old, and was born in ME, as were his parents. It is noteworthy that Sarah and daughter Marcia move down there.3
