William Harrison Houghton, retired Pennsylvania Railroad master carpenter, died Friday at 6:4! p. m. in Community Hospita where he had been a patiemt ten days. Death was due to a heart condition. Born in Point Township, Mr Houghton made his home foi many years at 309 Fairmount avenue and in later years reside with his nephew, William H Faux, 123 North Eighth street. He was born October 8, 1870, and was 82 years of age. As a young man he worked fof the Pennsylvania Railroad, first as a painter and later as a carpenter, and before he retired in 1935 he was a master carpenter He was engaged in the Sunbury and Northumberland areas, and had more than 40 years service. He was a member of Lodge 22, Free and Accepted Masons, and a charter member of the East End Hose Company.

Mr. Houghton returned January 7 from Vero Beach, Florida, where he had been vacationing and upon his arrival here was taken to Community Hospital to undergo treatment for an illness. He was in serious condition until the time of his demise. Survivors include nephews and nieces, Mr. Faux, this city; B. F. Houghton, Harrisburg; Mrs. Thomas Young, Washington, D. C; Mrs. Fred Miller, 257 Queen street, Northumberland, and William H. Houghton, 2nd., Punta- gardo, Fla. His wife, the former Nora Mensinger, died three years ago. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p. m. from the Wirt Funeral Home, Cliftmont, in charge of Rev. Robert W. Koons, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in Pom- fret Manor Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral
