Grace S. Houghton, 79, died Wednesday at a local nursing home.

She was born in Baltimore, daughter of Louis and Zita Marelli Schillaci.

For 18 years, Mrs. Houghton was a statistical analyst with the International Monetary Fund. She was previously employed by the federal government for 15 years, first with the General Accounting Office and later with the Department of Labor.

Surviving are a son, Michael Houghton of Annapolis, Md; two daughters, Whitney Houghton of Bowdoinham and Cynthia Cooley of Charlotte Hall, Md; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A services will be announced by Pine State Cremation Service, Greenville.
