Kathy Ostvig: "A Lisa Kahlow was listed in the 1865 MN Census Index with James and Eureka. Another source for the surname is the Death Certificate for William G. Houghton of Lewiston Nez Perce, Idaho( also Ma, Washington) states mothers name as Eureka Kahlow. but father William, though william was Eurekas father unable to verify if this is the son William."; The name according to the death certificate of Edward is Eureka Miller. Another death certificate( for a William which might be the wrong william) indicated Eureka Kahlow, but I am not certain if it is correct. Eureka Miller is what Edward stated on his own death certificate. That should be the name, until I can find any other sources that might contradict or confirm. Kahlow might want to be mentioned in a note.³

He will be sadly missed by daughter Darlene (Bill); grandsons Justin and Tyler; great-grandson Myles; brothers Ken and Bob; sisters Alice, Gladys and Ardella. He was a veteran of WWII and awarded the Purple heart. He retired from McKee's Trucking Company. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Memorial Service 11 a.m. at Johnson Peterson Funeral Home, 612 South Smith Ave, St. Paul, Minn., Wednesday, July 14. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.²

Age 92 Beloved Mother and Grandma God saw Myrtle getting tired, so He put His arms around her and whispered "Come to ME". Passed away May 31, 2010. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn and son Jerry. Survived by daughter, Darlene Karduck; grandchildren, Justin and Tyler, great grandchildren, Myles and Anah Jean. She will be greatly missed by all. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery next to her husband Glenn.

Leroy Kingsbury Houghton, III
Leroy Kingsbury Houghton, III, age 62, of Eastham, MA, died at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, MA on May 26, 2004. He is the husband of Myra (Myers) Houghton of Eastham, MA. Leroy was born in Holden, MA, graduated from Scarsdale New York High School and Akron University in Ohio. He is a US Navy Veteran and reservist with total time of 28 1/2 years of service. Living in Canton, Ohio, he was a school teacher at Canton City Schools, retiring in 1995 after 22 years. He and his wife moved to Eastham, MA in 1995 where he had summered most of his life. He also wintered in Summerfield, Fla. For many years he worked for the National Sea Shore in Eastham and had a lawn care and maintenance business. He was a member and very active of the American Legion and the VFW Post #9917 in Brewster, MA. He also enjoyed politics. Besides his wife he is survived by his mother, Nancy Houghton, of Eastham; 2 sons, Tom Dereich of Ohio, David Houghton of Texas; one daughter, Nanci Seliga of Delaware; 2 stepsons, Sean Houghton of Ohio, Erik Houghton of Colorado; two brothers, Norman W. of Albany, NY, Warren A. of Peekskill, NY; two sisters, Judith Ismail of Albany, NY, Beth Grega of Stratford CT; also survived by 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Eastham, on Saturday, May 29 at 1:30. Visiting hours will be held in The Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA on Saturday, May 29th., from 11am - 1pm preceding the graveside. Memorial donations may be made to Lowers Cape Outreach Council, 19 Brewster Cross Rd., Orleans, MA 02653.¹
