Obituary Jan 15, 2005 Saturday, January 15th, 2005 - Houghton, Everitas (EVE) R. - Everitas (Eve) R. Houghton, a 50-year resident of Yonkers, died on January 13 at the Greenwich Woods Nursing Home in Greenwich, CT, following a long ordeal with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 88 years old. She was born in New Jersey on June 13, 1916 to Arthur Large and Mary Regan. She was the beloved wife of Charles F. Houghton, whom she married on November 6, 1948 in St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont. Mr. Houghton died in 1978. Devoted mother of Charles F. Houghton, Jr. of Harrison and Robert W. Houghton of New York City, who died in 1989. She was the cherished grandmother of Timothy, Elizabeth and Emily Houghton of Harrison. Mrs. Houghton worked as a Legal Stenographer at law firms in New York City and in Westchester. She was predeceased by four sisters: Agnes Large of the Bronx; Grace Berry of the Bronx; Gwendolyn O'Donnell of Katonah, and Mae Robbin of Scarsdale, as well as a brother, Arthur Large of the Bronx. Calling hours at The Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 4 to 7 pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Eugene's Church, Yonkers on Tuesday, January 18 at 10 am. Interment, Calvary Cemetery.¹
