This urban park had various attractions through it's history. I would suggest for NOW surfing to Buffalo, New York's website to read more. If I locate old photo's/postcards I will try to post them. I dislike listing 'urban' Parks but when they contained so many attractions over the years it is a hard choice to make. In older days..late 1800's...early 1900's they were main attactions for the 'urban population'. This Park was named 'The Parade' in 1871 approx. and the name changed to Humboldt Park in 1898 and continued with that name till 1977 when the name was changed to Martin Luther King Park.


As to images above and Trolley information the Trolley's went to South Park also BUT I have yet to find any widespread recreational usage of South Park. So I have not listed it YET. There was a 'conservatory' built at South Park devoted to botanical type things which replaced earlier plans in 1893 to have South Park more recreational devoted. Baseball Park, Racetrack, Water Activities,etc.etc.
