The last picture is of the Carousel when it was in Woodside Park

St.John Terrel's Music Circus 1949-1970. It moved in 1962 from another site in Lambertville, NJ and on the new site had a carousel--the carousel that used to be at Woodside Park in Philadelphia, Pa.

PHILADELPHIA, PA Please Touch Museum plans to restore a 1924 Dentzel carousel to operate at its future home at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. The carousel once operated at Woodside Park, formerly located less than 10 blocks from Memorial Hall, and later, at the Music Circus at Lambertville, NJ. The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) has loaned the carousel, in a long-term agreement to Please Touch Museum.

In 1949 the original Music Circus began it's operations in a field in Lambertville New Jersey. Begun by St John Terrell as a summer stock theatre hybrid, mixing musical theatre within a circus tent, the new musical theatre performed in the round. The unique experience gained popularity through the 1950s and 1960a. Theaters copied the format and name and eventually spawning similar Music Circus theaters along the East coast.
