Ms. McDowell wrote" "Your letter to Helen Howey in Bonita Sprints, Florida was forwarded to my mother, who maiden name is Josephine Emma Howey [Daughter of Roscoe Howey. Roscoe son of William Howey, brother of Walter Howey of Riverside.]. Helen Howey was married to Roscoe Howey, Jr., my mother's brother and he is now deceased.
"We do not have much information on the Howey side of the family. My mother has no knowledge of an family ties to Ohio or Michigan but we are happy to share what we do know about the Howey family."

"Picture #1: Couple standing in front of the tobacco store in Riverside, NJ. Riversides is a small town in southern NJ on the Delaware River across from Philadelphia. You can barely see the name HOWEY near the peak of the storefront. Not sure of the first name of this couple, but his name may have been William. they had two sons. The story that was passed down to my mother was that the woman was raped and had a son before she married Mr. Howey. Mr. Howey adopted the boy and gave him his last name. The second son was named William.

"Picture #2 is William Howey, the only biological son of the man and woman standing in the front of the tobacco store. He married Emma Morgan.

"Picture #3 is Roscoe William Howey, Sr., the only child of William and Emma Howey. He was born in 1894 in Woodbury, NJ. He died in June 1962, in Camden, NJ."
