She was the wife of the late Charles Holton, who died in 1993. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. Everingham and the late Julia Everingham (Yourison). Mrs. Holton worked as a sewing machine operator at Major Clothing in Bridgeton for 14 years. She also operated D.' Twibb Stamps in Bridgeton for five years, where she designed and made cards and envelopes. In addition, she served as president of the Bridgeton Stamp Club for three years. She was a longtime member of Willow Grove United Methodist Church in Pittsgrove, but most recently had been attending church at First Wesleyan Church in Upper Deerfield Township.

Mrs. Holton was an original volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Cumberland County. She gave many hours at the nutrition site on Cohansey Street, helping to provide meals for senior citizens. In 1981, she was recognized for her dedication with the Dan Jordan Memorial Award with more than 25 years of service. She also was a member of the Deerfield Senior Citizen Center and had served as that organization's treasurer.

She is survived by one son, William Ruth and his wife Irene of Millville; three grandchildren, Douglas Ruth and his wife Fran of Palermo, Terry Adams of Windsor, Colo., and Barbara Fixler of Vineland; five great-grandchildren, Jasmine Adams, Christopher Fixler, Stephen Fixler, Kimberly Ruth and Norman Ruth; one niece, Margaret Williams; and one nephew, Earl Moriarty. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Bill Ruth in 2006; and one sister, Miriam McCracken.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton, with the Rev. Linwood Sharp of the Rosenhayn United Methodist Church officiating. The interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received between noon and 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Holton's memory to South Jersey Healthcare HospiceCare, P.O. Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302; or to the Arthritis Foundation, N.J. Chapter, 9 Tanner St., East Entry, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.

    Neil S. Everingham, 80, of Bridgeton died Saturday morning July 27, 2013 at SJ Extended Care in Bridgeton where he had been a patient since March.

    Neil was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Warren and Alburtus Kump Everingham. He was a lifetime resident of Bridgeton who formerly lived in the “high rise.”

    He worked at Seabrook Farms and had been a bartender at the Moose Lodge in Bridgeton. Most recently Neil was employed by the Green Thumb program and worked at the soup kitchen for the St. Vincent dePaul Society at the St. Teresa of Avila Church. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose.

    Neil is survived by a son, Wayne Simonds, two sisters, Beatrice Morris and Ethel Everingham and several nieces and nephews, including Steven and Darlene Morris.

    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Warren Everingham and sisters, Naomi Billings, Libby Hemple and Florence Durham.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday morning July 31st at 11 o’clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton where friends will be received from 10 until 11.

    The burial will follow the service and take place at Broad Street Cemetery in Bridgeton.
