    Enlisted 1 Sept 1862 in Company I 24th Regiment, NJ Volunteers for 9 months at Beverly, NJ.

    Jacob Franklin's name was changed at his father's death to Elmer Franklin.

    Mary Lummis Cake remarried March 4, 1875 to Amos Lloyd. At that time, Nathan Stratton, aged 62, was appointed guardian (a Stratton was her attorney as well) of the minor child, and managed the pension issues. Lloyd died Sept 25, 1889 at Mullica Hill, NJ, and after that she claimed pension again as a war widow in 1901 at age 71.

    Witnesses in deposition included Priscilla F. Hazleton, S. Josephine Howey, and Edward F. Lummis.
