Lewis Brandriff
Cedarville, May 11 --- Rev. Edmund J. Guest, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted the funeral of Lewis Brandriff which was held Tuesday afternoon from his late residence on North Main street. He was assisted by Rev. J.W. Veal, of West Berlin, a former pastor and a close friend of the deceased. Both ministers spoke in high terms of the Christian character of Mr. Brandriff.
There were beautiful floral tributes from church, Sunday-school, neighbors, frieds and relatives. The pall-bearers were; Loren Clunn, Bert Moore, Harry Dare, Asbury Veal, Wesley Veal and Kenneth Gandy. The interment was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brandriff had been ill less than two weeks. He had been working on his farm as usual when he was suddenly stricken.
He had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years and a member of the official board. He was noted for his hospitality and was never happier than when entertaining his friends.
He was a devoted husband, a kind neighbor and a loyal friend. Mr. and Mrs. Brandriff celebrated their fiftieth anniversary this spring by giving a dinner which was attended by a large party of relatives and friends. Only the widow survives him.
