Ella married John Henry BROWN, son of Caleb BROWN and Sarah Ann VARY. (John Henry BROWN was born on 5 Jun 1846 in Greig, Lewis, New York and died on 25 Mar 1909 in Greig, Lewis, New York.)

He was an established alcoholic in his early years, but stopped when his first child, Grace, was born, perhaps influenced by his father's will, which left him and his brother only a living. His father never changed his will, and at Duane's death, his children inherited James' three farms. As a teetotaler, he was possessed of a cold blue eye that was rumored to be nearly as hard to live with as his drinking had been. He was a strict Victorian father and forbade his daughters to go out with men who drank.

Duane died June 16, 1908 in Port Leyden, NY, where he had lived about 2 years. He was 68 years old, married, retired farmer. Cause of death was "killed by cars trying to cross R.R. track ahead of time", immediate death. Buried in Locust Grove Cenetery.

Winson's Hirtory of Duxbury states that he came from Kent County, England and had an estate there. He is said to have come to America on the ship James.
The first mention of George Partirdge's name upon the recores of Plymouth Colony was in the yr 1636 when he was granted five acres of land at Powder Point, with permission from the Court to settle thereon. In 1637 he was allowed 20 acres at Green Harbor Path; in 1638, 30 acres at Mill Brook which he sold to Thomas King, Jr. of Scituate in 1668. He was not admitted a freeman until 1646. In 1643 his name appears in a list of those able to bear arms. He was either a private or a non-commissioned officer in Capt. Miles Standish's Company. He was one of the original putchasers of Middleborough. Winson calls George Partridge "one of the most respectable yeoman of the Colony."
