Memorial services for long-time Bishop resident Jonathan Clay Greer, 38, will be held Friday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m. at Isaac Walton Park, West Line Street between Meadow lane and Reata Road, Bishop. Pastor Clint Scarbrough will
officiate.
Mr. Greer died Aug. 21 as the result of a climbing accident in the Inyo National Forest near Suppository Peak.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept. 15, 1959, Mr. Greer was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Union High School. At the time of his death, Mr. Greer was the manager of the Best Western Creekside Inn and was a member of the Board of
Directors for the Bishop Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
Survivors include his daughter Casey Colette Greer and son Packard Cole Greer; mother Bee Greer; 95-year-old grandmother Gertrude Beaubien; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Genevieve Greer, Kermit and Anna Greer, and
Shane and Lynne Greer; nieces and nephews, Taler, Packard Brady, Donna Bee, and Anika; family patriarch Scott Greer; numerous cousins; and the mother of his children, Rhonda Smith.
Donations in his memory may be made to an education trust fund set up for his children at Bishop's Bank of America branch.

Clay was killed in a 100 foot fall while mountain climbing alone near Mt
