The BEE was reconed by the Egyptions as an emblem of regal power. In
Armory, the BEE represents well governed industry. Arg. or argent, silver or
white, signified peace, nobility and sincerity. Gold, denotes generosity and
elevation of the mind.
ORIGIN OF FAMILY
The distinguished name of Hummel or Humble is, according to Harrison, (the
famous authority on the etymology of surnames), is a nickname from the
HUMBLE-BEE. In old High German, the word is Humbal. Humble is the
anglicization of the German Humbal. In ancient German and early American
records, the name is found under various spellings such as , Humels,Humbel,
Humble, Humel, Hummel and Hummell. Only the last three forms are common
in America today. The earliest references to the HUMMEL surname is CUNRAT
HUMMEL, who lived in Eningen, Germany about the year 1425. (Georg
