Jack Palance

Jack Palance, b; 1920 the acclaimed star of cinema, television & theatre for almost half a century, has has also spent most of his life painting & writing. Palance attended both the University of North Carolina & Stanford University. Besides his acting career, Palance also worked as a radio writer, professional boxer, & coal miner.

His theatrical career garnered many honors & awards including Theatre Worlds' Most Promising Personality [1950], for the play Darkness at Noon; a Emmy Award for his performance in the 1957 television drama, " Requiem for a Heavyweight"; 3 Academy Award nominations for best supporting actor in Sudden Fear [1952]
Shane [1953] ; & City Slickers [1991] for which he won an Oscar & a Golden Globe Award.

In his long, illustrious career ha has appeared in over 56 films; 8 plays including his role on Broadway as Stanley Kowalski in the 1948 production of Street Car Named Desire; & in over 50 television programs including the
popular program Ripley's Believe it or Not; which he hosted with his daughter Holly from 1982-86.

Palance currently makes his home on 2 coast--his farm in Pennsylvania & his ranch in California [Tehachapi Mountains] where he spends time with his children & grandchildren.

I have a signed copy of his first writing & artwork published in 1996; he had a book signing at B-Dalton book Store in Bakersfield CA in 1997. For The Forrest of Love.
