Searching for information regarding the ancestors of Alfred Louis Humphrey, born December 14, 1879. Family members state that Alfred was born in Illinois and that at the age of 12 he ran away from home and came to Minnesota. He married Mary (Gabrielson) Lyman, a divorcee and mother of 5. In September of 1922 he had George A. Humphrey and in 1924 he had Guy Franklin Humphrey while living in Bovey, Itasca County, MN. Mary and Alfred divorced and Alfred married Catherine (Kit) LaVoie and had the following children: Thomas (killed in 1951 in Korea), Marie, Margaret, William and Richard.

My name is Terri L. (Humphrey) Sutton, I am researching my family history. My parents did not speak about their heritage much so I have little to go on. I was born is 1960 to Guy and Aurelia Humphrey, in Alexandria, Douglas County, Minnesota. I spent my first 12 years in Hibbing, St. Louis County, Minnesota and the remainder of my adolescence in Hill City, Aitkin County, Minnesota. In 1992 I moved to Clark County, Nevada and now work for a local government entity.
