Rush (Wood-Rush) Cemetery
A more recent survey of this cemetery at USGENWEB
The Rush Cemetery, on highway 221 South of Berryville, was once know as the Wood-Rush Cemetery. William Wood and Joseph Rush homesteaded adjoining claims on land south of Berryville in what was then called the Thompson Valley. The community needed a cemetery, so each donated an acre of land where their land joined.
The cemetery is located just off highway 221 just over a mile south of Berryville. There are about 50 graves but many are not marked and many stones are broken and falling down (1976). Information and survey by Ethel (Wood) Skelton, August 1976.   Send all corrections to
Keeper of the Keys.
