Will of Frederick Purget

In the name of God [missing word(s)] I Frederick Purgit of the County [missing words] State of ohio being of sound mind and memory and considering the frailty and uncertainty of this mortal life do make and publish this my last will and testament in the mannor and form folowing to wit. 1st I give and bequeath to my son James the farm on which I now reside known as the home-place containiing two hundred and 3/4 acres held by three seprate deeds vis. one from B. turner and wife dated Nov 1819 one from John Storm and wife dated Feb. 25 1843 and one from Alen Lathem and wife bearing date March 31 1855 but in case of the death of my said son James previous to my decease then the above farm and appertenance to be divided among my other heirs the same as hereinafter provided in regard to my other real and personal estate but should he survive me then the above farm to be rented and tenanted to the best posable advantage by the person by me hereinafter appointed and the proceeds applyed to his suport and benefit during his natural life. I also give and bequeath to my said son James one good bed-stead with bed and beding as folows vis. one good underbed one good feather bed one good bolster and two good pillows two good sheets three good blankets one good comfortr and two good coverlets for his seprate & use during his natural life. i also give to my said son James twenty five dollars in money for his contingent suport from the time of my death untill he can draw from the proceeds of the above farm. It seeming best to me to give him so large a share on account of his total incapasit_ and inability to provide for or take care of himself and on the death of my said son James and after [unreadable words] and all just and reasonable charges [unreadable word?] accounts are paid then the above farm and appertenance to be divided among my folowing named heirs equally share and share alike namely sone Henry my daughter mariah now Mariah Peniston my daughter Ann now Ann Shoemaker my daughter Darkus now Darcus Clark my grand daughtor Mary Elisabeth daughter of Jacob Purget decd the heirs of my daughter sidney decd late sidney Musterd to share jointly the part their mother would have taken to be divided among them equally share and share alike. the heirs of my daughter Rachel now Rachel Rea to share jointly the part thier mother might have taken to be divided among them equally share and share alike. 2nd I give and bequeath to my aforesaid grand daughtor Mary Elisabeth daughtor of Jacob Purget decd fifty acres of land to be taken off the north end of a tract of land deeded to me by John Wilson and wife known as the Baty tract ajoining the lands of James Addy and John Storm. 3rd I give and bequeath to my daughor Tachel now Rachel Rea five dollars in money as her full personal share of all my estate real and personal. 4th The rest and residue of my real and persoanl estate after my funeral expenses and all just charges on my account and all my just debts (if any) are paid I give and bequeath to the above names heirs to be divided among the equally in the same mannor as hereinbefore provided in regard to the above farm. and I hereby appoint John Addy to execute this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills [unreadable word] by me made and I also make constitute and appoint John Addy to act as gardian for my said son James and tak charge of his property and effects hereby reccommending him to his kind attention. In testamony I have [unreadable word] to signed my name and fixt my seal this 29 day of august AD 1862. Frederick Purgt, his mark. Witnesses were George O. Briant adn George OBriant, Jr. In the records, $210.00 was given to Mary Elisebeth (daughter of Jacob Purgit decd) dated 20 April 1863, $210 to Ann Shoemaker (signed with her mark)dated 20 April 1863, and $210.00 to Darcus Clark dated 29 October 1863. Mary Purget received $4.00 as services as housekeeper.
