I'm trying to find my McCormick/Ryan ancestors but have very little information on them.
I know Edward McCormick was married to Alice Carriag, they had a daughter, Mary McCormick b 25 Oct 1865 in Niles, Ohio and married John Malachi Ryan b 4 May 1862 in Greene, Ohio.

His parents were Malachi Ryan and Mary O'Day. It is believed these families came from County Mayo or County Clare.
Any help on where to start looking for these people?

I am hoping there is someone who can help me extend what I know of Michael and Margaret Boland. I believe Margaret was born about 1818, and her husband Michael was born about 1812. Margaret and Michael were from County Clare; they had 11 children, but I have only been able to find three in PA. I know Margaret arrived here in 1862 with three of her 11; two boys who were twins--Stephen and John, and one daughter--Anna. Michael apparently never arrived with Margaret because when I first find the family in the city directory, Margaret is listed as the widow of Michael. Either Michael died while in County Clare, or in route to the US, or during the first seven years in the US. My problem is, too, is that all documentation I have accumulated, only mentions their home as being County Clare; how can I found out the town and the parish. If I knew the town, then maybe I could find records on the other children. Did they remain in Ireland, or did they die in Ireland. I know the family was Catholic and poor. Margaret bought a house for 200.00 in Hbg., PA in 1869. Any help would be appreciated. Coleen
BOLAND, Michael; CLA,IRL>Harrisburg, PA,USA; 1804-1906 I am hoping to find someone who is also researching the Boland family who emigrated from County Clare in 1862. The parents Michael and Margaret (Vaugh) emigrated with their children and settled in Harrisburg, PA. Their children were Mary (b. 1839), Thomas (b.1841), Bridget (b.1842), Margaret (b.1848), Joseph (b.1852), Anna (1853), John and Stephen (b.1855). Michael died within the first seven years after his immigration. Margaret outlived all of her children, with the exception of John. Margaret lived to be 106 and died in 1906. John died in 1923. They all lived and died in Harrisburg, PA.
