My son's mother-in-law is Rosaleen Tierney. She was born in Belfast, Co. Antrim, Ireland on 23 Oct 1923 and died in Warrenpoint, Co. Down, Ireland on 20 July 1999; she is buried there with her husband Thomas Mc Closkey.Her father Thomas Tierney married Ellen Brady.
TIERNEY
There were three septs of this name, in Donegall, Mayo and Westmeath, but it is now scattered. It is much confused with Tiernan in Mayo. In southern Ulster this is usually of different origin.
