Mary Etta Haworth's Obituary, as found in the Union Star newspaper, probably September 1920

MARY HAYWORTH COATS

Mary Hayworth-Coats was born in Illinois, September 26, 1832, moving
with her parents to Iowa, where she was united in marriage to John
Coats
. Mrs. Coats was reared in the Quaker church, but soon after her
marriage united with the Christian church. She was the mother of
thirteen children, eight boys and five girls - seven of them, with her
husband, are now deceased, and six are left. Those living are: George and
Martin Coats, of South Dakota; Harmon Coats of Forest City, MO; Mrs. Minnie Keene of Stockton,
Kansas; Mrs. J.H. Randall, of Forest City, and John Coats of Oregon. She
also leaves 25 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Mrs. Coats
passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Randall, in Forest City,
August 30. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.J. Chappell,
pastor of the Forest City Methodist Church, at the Benton Church,
Tuesday afternoon August 31, at 2:30 o'clock, and interment was in the
cemetery there.
