Mary Ann Vaughn Fisher's obituary, as it appeared in the Whittier Daily News on November 15, 1909, page 2, column 3.

OBITUARY

Mrs. Mary Ann Vaughn Fisher was born at Centerville, Clinton county, New York, June 5th, 1844, and de-parted this life at Whittier, Califor-nia, Nov. 12, 1909. She was the second child of Allen and Harriet Vaughn. At the age of 12, she with her father's family moved to Wis-consin. She was married to John Walter Fisher in the year 1859. Twelve children were born to this union, six of whom are left to mourn her loss, namely, Mrs. Laura Babe, of Franksville, Wis., Mrs. Belle Sin-gleton, of Whittier, Cal., Mrs. Ada Bickmore of Huntington Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Addie Haworth, John W. Fisher and G. E. Fisher of Los Angeles, Cal.

Her husband departed this life in 1895. She was converted to God ear-ly in life and always desired to be a whole hearted Christian, and a con-stant member of the church until death.

It can be said of her truthfully that her life was a sacrifice for others, always up and doing what her hands found to do.

Among her last words were ad-montions to the unsaved to prepare to meet her in heaven. She left a clear testimony to having the assurance of going to her heavenly home.
