Welcome to the Isbell's of Vigo County, Indiana web site on Rootsweb. My name is Thomas Livingston Isbell and I have live in Vigo County all my life. I am decended from the Isbell's of Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. The Virginia and North Carolina information has been published in print and online by many others. I will concentrate mainly on the Kentucky and Indiana branches that have not had much attention. I will start with James Isbell and Frances Tompkins Livingston's son James (b. 1760 Orange County, Virginia, d. 1840 Warren County, Kentucky). The Livingston name has been used as a given name for many years in my line, myself, my Father, GGrandfather, GGGrandfather all have the Livingston name. Livingston Isbell (b. about 1785 Wilkes County, North Carolina, d. about 1850 Honey Creek, Vigo County, Indiana) migrated to Vigo County about 1826. Most of the early Isbell's are buried in the Prairieton or Hull Cemeteries.
