Bacup Times. 2nd.Dec. 1916.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Lord.
The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Lord, of 36, Tong Lane, Bacup, took place on Monday after a short illness. She was 74 years of age and was the widow of Mr. Jas. Lord, weaver, who had died twenty years ago. Mrs. Lord leaves four daughters, three married. She was a native of the town and had lived at 36, Tong Lane, for fifty years. For twenty-nine years she worked as a Twister for the firm of John Maden & Son at Throstle Mill and was very well-known and respected. Her interment will take place at Bacup cemetery today.

Mrs. C. Harrison.
The death occurred at 36, Tong Lane on the 12th. inst. of Mrs. Clara Harrison aged 43 years, wife of Mr. Frank Harrison. Deceased, whose death was due to heart failure after three weeks illness, leaves a husband and one daughter and is survived by three sisters. She was a native of Bacup and was the daughter of the late James Lord, being well-known and respected. The interment took place at Bacup cemetery on Wednesday, Mr.J.H.Whitehead, the Town Missioner, Bacup, officiating. Mr.Levi Holt, Lanehead Lane was the undertaker.

Miss Sarah Lord.
The funeral took place on Wednesday, the Rev.H.Marsden officiating, at Bacup cemetery, of Miss Sarah Lord, 36, Tong Lane, Bacup, who died at Burnley Victoria Hospital on Sunday aged 77 years. She had been a patient at the hospital for about 10 days. Miss Lord had lived in Bacup all her life and spent most of her working life in the employ of Sir H.W.Trickett Ltd. Gaghills Works, Waterfoot. She retired about 10 years ago after working there as a shoe machinist for over 30 years. At one time she was associated with the now defunct Primitive Methodist church, Bacup. Funeral director was Mr.A.Eddy, 21,Market St. Bacup.
