Originally was called
HANNA CEMETERY



This cemetery was in Brown County prior to 1887, but is now located in Mills County. Hanna Cemetery is located on 15 acres of land donated to the community by Jesse P. Hanna, in the highest part of the level valley is the Old Hanna Cemetery where Jesse P. Hanna and his wife and many of their children lay. The name of the cemetery may have changed when the community was renamed "Regency" for the Post Office.

The Cemetery is located down a private lane and can be seen from this gate.

As with all good things, Bad things happen. I was notified by someone that this cemetery and other cemeteries that I and even some submitters have done were taken and posted by a Find-a-grave poster who I will refer to as Ms plagiarizer (write me for her name and links) and she is a top submitter who has posted

She did not just take the name and dates which are not copyrightable and is for free use. but but she took/copied my/submitter notes and references, including mispellings or typos word for word (my layout) that I wrote so someone visting this and other cemetery pages could write me or find out who to write for more information, and since she did not reference or cite her source of where she took the information from, there is no way they can write to me from her listings and if they write her, she wouldn't have the answers to reply.

UPDATE: Some one just sent me a email complaining about the way I wrote about the find-a-grave poster , The complainer also wrote to me the following: Quote "Is your life so meaningless that your swelled head and ego are more important than the information itself?? why bother posting that at all?? its hateful and uncalled for. If you were truly worthy of the cause it would not matter what site it was posted on, but that its importance was shared with the world. Normally I would never speak to another human this way, but get a life.... and maybe a few living friends...... wow...just pathetic to attack another like that....." unquote I am not sure how the complainer is connected to Ms plagiarizer but with the above email and the following ones that threaten me with lawsuits and telling everyone in town that I am a horrible person, I have to wonder. I have not erased any pages I have renamed the old ones to save them and to post this page.

The complainer maybe be right about me, I don't think so but I only wanted Ms plagiarizer to correct the wrong she did, She would not do that. I wrote her and I wrote find-a-grave first before posting this, Find-a-grave said I had to contact her which I did. I expected her to go back and cite the sources, she refused she did not have time, too busy gathering photos I guess. I just wanted her to correct the wrong she did.

Today (September 30th, 2007) more than a year since I last wrote to Ms plagiarizer, I did go to her find-a-grave bio and she wrote that she is now "doing things the right way" She has started visiting cemeteries, taking pictures, taking notes, getting dirty, sweaty and tired, That is what she should of done in the first place and credit those who did get dirty, sweaty and tired for the pictures that she using as her own.

So maybe she has changed her ways of obtaining photographs, so I will refer to her as Ms plagiarizer but I still advise anyone posting their photographs on line to add their name, and any other information on the photo first, this will keep honest people honest as the old saying goes. I have a friend that marked his pictures in hidden areas But I do not think that would stop them, However if they can see the name, they may not take it but then they can erase names so maybe a hidden mark is necessary

Wife of Jesse P.		 Someone had written me and I lost the email saying that the Wife of Jesse P. Hanna was buried next to him so made a mention on this cemetery page, since then I received another email saying

[snipped] I have a correction to make on the Hanna's. I believe Jesse P. Hanna's wife is NOT buried in that cemetery [Regency], but in the Cherokee (formerly Hanna) Cem. in San Saba County.
This information comes from a 'book' written by David S. Hanna and is in the Austin State Library.

Jesse P. is my great-great-great-grandfather. His son, James, my gr-gr-grandfather, has been speculated to be buried in the Regency Cem., but I have no proof of that. Also, Nancy Vest Hanna, James' wife, died in that vicinity and I have no grave location for her. She died about 1887. James died about 1902.

The "R.M. Hanna" is a son of Jesse P. and Elizabeth Williams Hanna.
