NIXON'S OF PENNSYLVANIA
Renton, WA.
Tracing my roots has been both a lot of fun and a lot of work. Many resources were used, but I would like to give special thanks to two of them. The Washington State King County Library System for all the resources they provide as well as the Westmoreland County Pennsylvania Genealogy Project. It seems that I was the first one in my direct line to leave the state of Pennsylvania and the small area of Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties, making reasearch much easier.
I'm organizing this by listing my ancestors starting with my GGGGG Grandfather and working down to me. I'm leaving out anyone else but me that is still living. Lets get started! Click on a name for further information.
GGGGG Grandfather - George Nixon
George was born in Northern Ireland of Scotch-Irish parentage. I don't know yet what year he came to the United States, but he lived in Hopewell Township, Bedford County, PA. on a land warrant in his name in 1762. He married Rebecca Woods. Rebecca was the sister of Col. George Woods, the person who surveyed the City of Pittsburgh in 1784. He died on Feburary 13th 1806. George and Rebecca had the following children:
The majority of the above information was obtained from various information I found on the internet thanks to the research of others. James Anthony "Tony" Keltz,Sr. and Gracie Stover to mention two that I know of.

I'm not sure when George Jr. was born. About all that is known about him is that he married Jean (surname unknown) and moved to Derry Township, Westmoreland County, PA. He died there in October 1807. He and Jean had the following children:
