Charles Richard Williams was born on 19 Jul 1850 in Warwick Twp. Charles Richard married Mary Wilson in 1875.

Mr. C.R. Williams is in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, at present having cataracts removed from his eyes. At last report his condition was favourable. All wish Mr. Williams success and quick recovery.

C.R. WILLIAMS Another of Warwick's old pioneers passed away on Saturday, March 7th, in the person of Charles R. Williams in his 76th year. Deceased had been confined to his bed for the past eight weeks suffering from pneumonia. He had been a resident of Warwick practically all his life and his sterling qualities and earnestness had endeared him to a large circle of friends. Three sons and one daughter are left to mourn the loss of a loving father: Thomas and Russell of Warwick; Albert of Borden, Sask., and Mrs. Jas. Smith of London; also thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. His wife (formerly Miss Anna Crocker), predeceased him eleven years ago. Two brothers also survive, J.Y. of Wisbeach and Joseph of Pinnebog, Mich., the latter being unable to attend on account of illness.
The funeral which was largely attended was held from the residence of his son, Russell Williams, lot 15, con 1, S.E.R. on Tuesday, March 9, to Wisbeach cemetery, services being conducted at the house by Rev. E.C. Jennings. Six nephews acted as pallbearers: Eugene, Wm., Harry and Richard Williams and Henry and Russell Mansfield. Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Sedwick, and Mr. Fred Mansfield of Sarnia; Mr. Wm. Williams of Aylmer, Mrs. James Smith and Mrs. Russell Smith of London. The sympathy of friends and relatives is extended to the family in their sad bereavement.

EDWARD THOMAS WILLIAMS Edward Thomas Williams of London passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on Friday, February 28th, 1992, in his 78th year.
Mr. Williams was born and raised in Warwick Township, the son of the late Richard and Mabel Grace Williams. He was a veteran of World War II.
He was the beloved husband of Bernice (Applegate) and the late Rose Barnes (1977), and dear father of Joan Shipley of London, Chief Warrant Officer, Canadian Forces Alan Williams and his wife Sheila of Calabogie, Darlene and her husband Paul Cooper of London, and Virginia and her husband Giuseppe Gagliano of Victoria, B.C. Dear step-father of William and his wife Hope Hay of Sweaburg, and Jeffrey and his wife Tracy Hay of Chatham. Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lovingly remembered by brother Jim Williams and his wife Dorothy of Arkona, and sister Florence and her husband Willis Ball of London. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sisters Mary, Sarah, Martha, Alma, and brothers Bill and Orville.
The funeral service was held on Sunday, March 1st at 12:30 p.m. from the Needham Funeral Chapel, London with Rev. Cordell S. Parsons of Parkwood Hospital officiating.
Interment was in Wisbeach Cemetery, Warwick Township on Monday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

WILLIAMS - ROSS A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. Allan McDonald, 10th concession, West Williams, on Wednesday, June 27th, when his niece, Miss Lola J. Ross, of London, eldest daughter of the late William Ross and Mrs. Ross, of Warwick, was married to Eugene H. Williams, a prosperous young farmer of Warwick, son of Mr. J.Y. Williams.Eugeen Williams
The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. W.L. Nichol, of St. Paul’s Church, Parkhill, in the presence of immediate relatives. The bride was attired in a gown of white silk crepe de chene and carrying a bridal bouquet of white roses, entered the drawing room on the arm of her uncle. The bridal couple were unattended.
After a sumptuous wedding breakfast the happy young couple motored to their home on the groom’s farm in Warwick, followed by the congratulations and best wishes of their many friends. The bride travelled in a navy blue silk suit with a most becoming white hat. The numerous beautiful gifts indicate the high esteem in which the young people are held.

WILLIAMS - ROSS The handsome church of St. Paul’s Wisbeach, made still more beautiful by flowers, streamers and evergreen, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, March 29th, 1922, when Miss Margaret G. Ross was united in marriage to Mr. Eugene H. Williams, both of Warwick. The Rev. W.M. Shore officiated, and Mrs. Shore played the wedding march as the bride was escorted up the aisle by Mr. William A. Williams of Arkona.
The bride wore a gown of white duchess satin and georgette trimmed with pearl beads, with hat to match and carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses. She was attended by Miss Donna L. Tanner who wore a gown of white canton crepe, trimmed with silk braid, with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of roses. The groom was supported by his brother, Mr. Alfred C. Williams of Watford.
After the ceremony the bridal party proceeded to the groom’s home, where a dainty luncheon was served.

EUGENE H. WILLIAMS Eugene Harold Williams, a life-long resident of Wisbeach, Warwick Township, passed away this Wednesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bud Cundick, No. 7 highway. He was in his 84th year and had been in failing health for the the past five months.
He was the eldest son of John Williams and Martha Phillips, both of early pioneer families on the London Road.
Surviving are his wife, formerly Margaret Ross and a family of three daughters and 1 son: Mrs. Cundick (Marjorie) of Warwick, Mrs. A.D. Elliot (Donna) of London, Mrs. Don Blain (Jennie) of Dundas and Sherman of Warwick; also one surviving brother Harry, of London. Two brothers, Albert C. and William A. predeceased him.
Resting at the Harper Funeral Home until Friday when service will be conducted at St. Paul’s Church, Wisbeach, where he was a life-long member, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. William H. Daunt of Warwick Anglican parish, with interment at St. Paul’s churchyard.

He was the son of the late Thomas James and Jane (Hart) Williams and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Perry of R.R. #4, Appin, and a brother Harvey of Wyoming, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at the Arn Funeral Home, Glencoe, on Monday afternoon with Elder J. Stewart McColl officiating.
Interment followed in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Wisbeach.

JOHN Y. WILLIAMS PASSES IN 79TH YEAR Mr. John Y. Williams, Main Road, Warwick, passed away at his home on lot 26 last Thursday afternoon, after an illness of only two weeks’ duration. He was in his 79th year and had previously enjoyed the best of health.
He was born in Warwick Twp., on the farm just opposite where he died. His parents were among the first newly married couples who invaded the Warwick bush in the early days, settling on the the only road where they could have access to London. Eight sons were raised, Mr. Williams being the last surviving member of the family.
Following his marriage to Miss Martha Phillips, they settled on his new farm which has become his home. Four sons were born to them: Eugene H., on the homestead; William A., of Aylmer; Harry Y. and Alfred C., both of Watford. Mrs. Williams predeceased him 34 years ago.
The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon in St. Paul’s church, Wisbeach, service being conducted by the rector, Rev. E.C. Jennings. The pallbearers were six life-long friends and neighbours: Richard Adams, John A. Minielly, Andrew Iles, William, Robert and John Watson.
Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Mary Williams and son, Mr. Thomas Williams, of Harbor Beach, Mich; Mr. and Mrs. John Fraleigh and daughter Olive, of Jeddo, Mich; Mrs. Kate Phillips, Sarnia; Mr. John Hunter and daughter, Violet, Mrs. Mary Tanner, Mr. and Mrs. William Phillips, Petrolia; Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Williams, Aylmer; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry James, Sarnia.

L. JAMES WILLIAMS L. James Williams, of Orchard View Apartments, Arkona, and formerly of R.R. 8, Watford, passed away peacefully in Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Monday, November 3, 2003, in his 88th year.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Maitland (April 5, 1998) and dear father of Sharon and her husband Ernie Gilliland of Watford, Vicki and her husband Don MacKenzie of Warwick, Rick and his wife Gwen of Watford, Michael and his friend John of Ottawa, and step-father of Nancy and her husband Bob Berglund of Sarnia. Dear grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Florence and her husband Willis Ball of London and brother-in-law of Evelyn Williams of Sarnia, and Bernice Williams of Chatham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Richard Williams and Mabel Grace Waun, grandson Devon, great-granddaughter Samantha, step-daughter Marilyn, and by sisters and brothers Mary, Sarah, Martha, Bill, Alma, Edward and Orville.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Watford.
Cremation with interment of ashes together with those of his wife Dorothy during a private family service at St. Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, Wisbeach. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Watford Medical Centre or Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

WARWICK PARENTS LOSE 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN SUDDEN DEATH A sudden heart attack, brought on by illness with measles, caused the death about noon on Saturday of Marian Ruth, the 15-year-old and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Williams, No. 7 Highway at 15 sideroad, Warwick. The news of her sudden death was a shock to the entire district and heartfelt sympathy is expressed for the bereaved family.
Marian was a most likeable child, beloved by all who knew her. Last year she was among the pupils from rural schools who passed the High School entrance examinations at Watford.
The members of the family who are left to mourn her loss are her parents and three young brothers: Ivan, Albert and Arnold.
The funeral was held on Monday afternoon with services conducted by Rev. F.B. Allen, of Knox Presbyterian church, and Rev E.C. Jennings, St. Mary's church, Warwick Village, officiating. Interment was in Wisbeach cemetery, the pallbearers being William and Eddie Williams, George and Fred McIntosh, Mervin and Norman Mansfield.

ROSS - WILLIAMS A very pretty wedding took place on Tuesday afternoon, May 17th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Flagg, Grimsby, when Martha Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Williams, and Philip Ross, son of the late William Ross and Mrs. Ross of Forest, were united in marriage by Rev. C.L. Poole of the Central United Church. The bride was dressed in white canton crepe trimmed with silk embroidery with veil with orange blossoms, and wore silver brocaded slippers and carried a bouquet of carnations, sweet peas and maiden hair fern. Mrs. Lorne Flagg, sister of the groom was matron of honor and Mr. Lorne Flagg attended the groom.

Martha married Wilfred Baker, son of Thomas John Baker and Mary Ann Garveston, on 11 Aug 1954, in London.

Martha Ellen Williams died on 16 Apr 1973 London, at age 64. She was buried on 18 Apr 1973 St. Paul's Cemetery, Wisbeach.2

MRS. MARTHA BAKER, 64. Mrs. Martha Baker, formerly Martha Ellen Williams, wife of Wilfred Baker and the late Phillip Ross, passed away on Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. She resided at 1490 Beckworth Dr., in London and some years ago lived in Watford where she was employed at Androck.
A son Lorne Ross, R. 5, Forest and a daughter Mrs. Ruth Ann Tice, Utah are left to mourn the loss, along with five grandchildren.
Four brothers Edward, of London, Bill, Sarnia, Jim R.8, Watford and Orville, Komoka, as well as four sisters, Mrs. Mary Wilson, Sarnia, Mrs. John Wilson (Sarah), Port Huron, Mich., Mrs. Jack MacPherson (Alma) and Mrs. Willis Ball (Florence), both of London also survive.
Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Harper Funeral Home with interment in Wisbeach Cemetery. Mr. Wilkinson, of London, officiated.
Pallbearers were Phillip Ross, Barry Shortt, Richard Ball, Lyle, Earl and Rick Williams.

A quiet wedding was solemnized at the English church rectory, on Wednesday morning when Rev. J.H. Hosford, M.A., joined in wedlock Gordon Wesley Wilson of Arkona and Mary Elizabeth Williams of Warwick. The bride was attended by her sister and the groom's best man was his brother, and a number of friends witnessed the ceremony. The newly wedded left on the 11 o'clock train to spend a short honeymoon at eastern points.

MARY ELIZABETH BERGLUND Mary Elizabeth (Williams) Wilson Berglund, of 516 Victoria Street, Watford and formerly of Sarnia, passed away in Sarnia General Hospital, on Wednesday, June 30th, 1982, in her 78th year.
She was the dear wife of Edward Berglund and the late Gordon Wilson.
She was the mother of Dorothy (Mrs. Edward Burns) of Watford, Donald of Port Huron, Pauline (Mrs. Basil Thompson), and Ronald, both of Sarnia and Carole (Mrs. Leonard Martin) of Toronto.
Four brothers, Edward of London, William of Sarnia, Jim of Watford, Orville of Strathroy and three sisters, Sarah (Mrs. John Wilson) of Florida, Alma (Mrs. Jack McPherson) and Florence (Mrs. Willis Ball) both of London as well as 25 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive.
Predeceased by a sister, Martha.
The funeral service was held at the Harper Funeral Home, Watford, on Saturday afternoon, July 4th with Elder John Sawer of the R. L. D. S. Church in Sarnia.
Serving as pallbearers were Sid Thompson, Robert Thompson, Robert Berglund, Vince Wilson, Kim Burns and Ed Longowski.

MRS. WM. TOPPING PASSES SUDDENLY The funeral of Mary Elizabeth Williams, wife of William Topping, of Arkona, who died at her home on Wednesday, May 27th was held on Saturday, May 30th with a private service at the residence, followed by a public service in the Wisbeach Church. The services were conducted by Rev. C. James, St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Arkona, and Rev. E. C. Jennings, of St. Paul's Church, Wisbeach. Mrs. Topping, who was in her 69th year, was born in Warwick township and since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Topping lived at Arkona. She had been in failing health for several months but recently seemed much improved. On Wednesday afternoon she suffered a heart attack and died within a few minutes. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Isaac Smith, Arkona. The pallbearers were Will, James, and Ed. Williams, Harry Topping, Wilbert Millman and Albert Pullman.

WARWICK COUPLE CELEBRATE SILVER WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. Russell Williams, Main Road, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Friday evening, January 5th. The guests, numbering about 50, were received by Mrs. Fred McIntosh and Miss Ina McIntosh.
The evening was spent in playing games.
Mr. Walter Mansfield proposed the toast to both bride and groom of 25 years ago, and two of the neighbours, Mr. James McIntosh and Mr. Arthur Perry both voiced the many good qualities of both Mr. and Mrs. Williams. To this the groom very ably replied.
Tea was poured by the bride's mother, Mrs. Archie Smith, Courtright, and the groom's only sister, Mrs. James Smith of London. The table looked lovely with a lace cloth, silver candlesticks and candles, coloured flowers and the three-story wedding cake.
A lovely buffet lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Williams received many beautiful silver gifts. Friends wish them many more years of health and happiness.

Mr. Williams formerly resided in Wisbeach and the remains were taken there for interment on Wednesday.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Cuthbert Williams of Warwick in the County of Lambton and Province of Ontario made this Twenty-sixth day of February, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and seventy-seven.
I Revoke all former Wills, or other Testamentary Dispositions by me at any time made, and declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament. I direct all my just debts, funeral and Testamentary expenses to be paid and satisfied by my Executors herein after named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

I Give, Devise and Bequeath:

First, I bequeath to my son, Alfred James Williams all my right and title to the West half of the West half of Lot Number Twenty-six in the First Concession, South of the Egremont Road in the Township of Warwick in the County of Lambton, containing Fifty acres, more or less.
Second, I bequeath to my son John Young Williams all my right and title to the East half of the West half of the aforesaid Lot number Twenty-six, containing Fifty acres more or less.
Third, I bequeath to my son Charles Richard Williams the West half of the West half of Lot Number Twenty-six in the First Concession, North of the Egremont Road, in the aforesaid Township of Warwick in the County of Lambton, containing Fifty acres more or less.
Fourth, I give to my son Arthur Septimus Williams, the East half of the West half of the aforesaid Lot Number Twenty-six on the First Concession North of Egremont Road in the Township of Warwick in the County of Lambton, containing Fifty acres more or less.
Fifth, I give to my said sons Charles Richard Williams and Arthur Septimus Williams all my Chattel Property and Household Furniture half to each (except my Books, Musical Instruments and Clothing) also all my money that I may be possessed of as that may to due to me. They are to pay all my
just debts and funeral expenses. They are to pay, or cause to be paid, the following legacies that is to say, Henry Williams, the sum of Six Hundred Dollars in six equal annual Installments, to my son John Young Williams, the sum of Three Hundred Dollars. To my son Alfred James Williams, the sum of

The foregoing Legacies are to be paid in yearly installments as aforesaid and are to paid on the first of January in each year after my decease and in the following rotation. First Henry Williams, Second, Alfred James Williams, and John Young Williams, Third Josephus Octavius Williams and lastly Albert Thomas Williams.
I bequeath to my son, Charles Richard Williams, half the farm tools and implements, and half the cattle and horses and half the dwelling house and furniture.
I bequeath to my son, Arthur Septimus Williams, the other half of farm tools and implements, half the cattle and horse, the frame barn on the West half of said Lot Number Twenty-six on First Concession North of Egremont Road in Township of Warwick, and also Half the dwelling house and furniture until he is able to build one.
Sixth, my books, musical instruments and clothing I wish to have divided among my seven sons as equally as possible.
And I nominate and appoint William Watson of the Township of Warwick and also Edwin Tanner of said Township of Warwick to be executors of this my last Will and Testament.

Thomas Williams, son of C.R. Williams, Main road, was in St. Joseph's hospital, London, where he underwent an operation for appendicitis two weeks ago. He is making a fair recovery. He has now sufficiently recovered to be moved to the home of his sister, Mrs. James Smith.

THOMAS J. WILLIAMS Thomas James Williams, 72, a lifelong resident of the main road in Warwick twp. passed away in Strathroy hospital on Wednesday. He was removed to hospital Saturday afternoon last week following a severe heart attack.
Surviving are his widow, who was formerly Sarah Jane Hart, and a family of two sons and one daughter: Harold and Harvey, at home, Mrs. Clifford Perry (Beatrice) at Appin; also three grandchildren and two brothers and one sister: Russell on a nearby farm, Albert of Borden, Sask., and Mrs. James Smith (Mabel) of Dorchester.
The body is resting at the family home, lot 15, main road, and funeral service will be conducted at Harper Funeral Home, Watford, this Friday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. P.G. Docksey, Warwick rector, and interment will be in Wisbeach cemetery.

FUNERAL OF MRS. WM. WARD The funeral of the late Mrs. William Ward, who died in Watford on Thursday morning, January 29th, was held on Saturday afternoon at three o'clock from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Routley, Simcoe street. Services were in charge of Rev. J. H. Hosford, rector of Trinity Church, and Rev. T. W. Hazlewood of Erie St. United Church.
Mrs. Ward, who was in her 84th year, was remarkably active for her years up until the past few months, during which she has been in very poor health at the home of her daughter in Watford. Her maiden name was Sarah Williamson, a daughter of the late David and Mary Williamson, who were pioneer settlers of the 4th line, east of Watford, where she was born nearly 84 years ago. She has thus lived in the vicinity of Watford over four score years, and with a keen memory could recall all the events down the passing years during which this fine prosperous community has developed from an actual forest wilderness.
In June 1865 she was married to William Ward, a neighboring son of another pioneer family, who lived to the age of 75 and predeceased her in August 1914.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters: Benjamin, of White Court, Alberta; William H., formerly of Watford, and Russell, on the homestead; Mrs. Albert Routley, Watford, and Mrs. Bert E. Gray, of Pontiac; also six brothers and one sister: Henry and William Williamson, of Watford; Charles of Petrolia; Andrew, in Dakota; Joseph and James in Alberta, and Mrs. John Bryce, Saskatoon. In the younger generation to revere her memory there are 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Wisbeach cemetery, the pallbearers being six neighbors and friends: Ed. Clark, S. B. Chambers, Davis Hamilton, John McIntosh, James Harrower and S. E. Thompson.
Among the relatives from a distance present were: Charles Williamson and son, Edward, of Petrolia; Duncan Ward, son Alex, and Gerald Ferguson, Oil Springs; Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. McGregor and Thos. Lucas, Sarnia; Mrs. Walter Hare and daughter, Gladys Dupee, of Palmerston.

Pallbearers were six nephews: Robert McGregor, Robert Wilson and Robert Ferguson, of Port Huron, Lorne Ross, Bruce and George Robertson, of Sarnia.

WALTER WILSON PASSES AT STRATHROY Funeral service was held in Strathroy on Tuesday for Walter W. Wilson, 86-year-old native of Warwick Township who died Saturday at Strathroy Hospital.
Mr. Wilson who was born in Warwick Township, farmed on his home farm, south of Arkona, until he moved to Strathroy six years ago. He was a member of Wisbeach Anglican Church.
Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Richard Wilson and Margaret Carroll. He is survived by his wife, the former Mabel McChesney, and a sister, Mrs. Ernest Eastman, [Lyla] of Blenheim.
The body rested at Denning Brothers funeral home, where service was conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday by the Rev. E. S. Wells, of Strathroy Anglican Church and burial was in Wisbeach cemetery.

Mrs. Hay was born 88 years ago in Detroit, a daughter of the late William L. Woodbridge, a former governor of the State of Michigan, and the late Julianna Hurd Woodbridge, and came to Canada, where she has since resided, 60 years ago. She was a member of St John's Anglican Church.
Surviving are two sons, Andrew Hay, of Forest, and Harold Byrne Hurd, of Arkona, and two daughters, Mrs. Burzina Gunness, of Strathroy, and Mrs. Stella W. Smith, of Chatham, and one sister, Mrs. Duncan Stewart, of Detroit. Her husband, David Hay, died 10 years ago.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, with the rector, Rev. M. B. Johnson, officiating. Interment was in Wisbeach cemetery.
The pallbearers were six grandsons.
