After marriage "settled at the head of Big Creek in Ward 3, Grant Parish which has been their home ever since and which is known to hundreds of old time settlers as well as newcomers as the abode of hospitality and genial homely welcome to everybody. There they raised a family of 4 boys and 3 girls all of whom became representative useful citizens of the country. For many years Mrs. Kemp (Aunt Eliza as she was affectionately called) has been an exemplary and acceptable member of the Methodist church and diedc in full possession of her faith." Goes on to say she died of complications of asthma with some sort of infection.
