It is this, I was born in Elbert County Georgia in the year 1810 and my father died an 2 CONC d left two orphan children, myself and a younger brother. A few years after his death, ther 2 CONC e was a provision made by your state for the benefit of orphan children by lottery, and we dr 2 CONC ew a certain lot of land near Macon, Georgia which we have never got. My mother had the necessary papers in her possession, she move 2 CONC d to western Texas several years since and died and perhaps the papers were destroyed. Theref 2 CONC ore I would be glad and truly thankful to you if you would investigate the matter and if yo 2 CONC u think title is yet good, make the necessary arrangements for us with instructions on how w 2 CONC e will have to proceed in regard to the matter. My fathers name was John H. TABOR, my name i 2 CONC s William H. TABOR, and my brother John H. TABOR. William H. TABOR to Governor BROWN. 2 CONT 2 CONT Dear Sir, I write to you in regard to a matter which I would be pleased to get your advice ab 2 CONC out. Before my mother left G 2 CONC eorgia, my mother had the land examined and was pronounced valueless at that time but now I e 2 CONC xpect it would be worth something if our title will hold good and I would be glad if you woul 2 CONC d advise me on that point and if you think our title is good, you will please examine the rec 2 CONC ord and give me the number of the lot of land. It was made a matter of record perhaps about t 2 CONC he year 1814 on from that 26. TABOR. I am a farmer and am kneady now and have n 2 CONC o money to spare from the support of my family upon uncertainties. I have tried to live and h 2 CONC onest life and wish to place all of my acts with my fellow man & my country on the ----- squa 2 CONC re and for this reason if you will give me the necessary information that I have asked, I wil 2 CONC l know how to proceed in regard to the matter. It was also speculated that he ma 2 CONC y have been the first son of William TABOR and Susannah TUBB but William TABOR's Revolutionar 2 CONC y War Pension Papers has an affidavit that claims his son, John TABOR, was still living in 18 2 CONC 52. 2 CONT 2 CONT !There was another John TABOR md. He bought lan 2 CONC d early in the Wilkes County area and later the County was split and new counties were made f 2 CONC rom early Wilkes so it has been hard to distinguish which John Tabor was who before 1819. T 2 CONC o make matters worse, this John TABOR had a son named John H. TABOR but he married and move 2 CONC d to Madison Co., AL and died there. I will be better able to separate these Georgia familie 2 CONC s once I have copied all the TABOR deeds in those counties and sort through them.
