[10422] History of the Lands and Their Owners in Galloway, Vol 4, pp 246-7 states that he succeeded his father to the lands of Carsluth, Stroane, and Kirkmabreck 11 Mar 1729. He became a merchant and druggist (a merchant in drugs) in London, sold Carsluith in 1748, sailed to India, and perished at sea. He left two daughters, but only one is known.
