"Genealogy of the Family of Mackay, sometime of Sandwood and Kinlochbervie, but Anciently of Kirkiboll, Ribigill and Lettermore, with an account of the Clan Mackay," by Angus Mackay, M.A., at National Library of Scotland, states: "About 1635 Alexander Gunn, son of William, married the Dowager Lady Fowlis...by whom he had known issue John, the succeeding chieftain, and Catherine...On 4 Aug 1676 Alexander gunn, 'apparent of Killearnan,' witnessed a document among the Reay papers, and must have been the son of the preceding John..." [Must be this Alexander, and he must have died soon after.]
