Blackcastle, p 83, states he "had a Precept of Clare Constat as eldest son and heir to Donald Mackay his father, dated 18th April and on which sasine passed in his favour 19th April 1620. He granted a Procuratory for resigning his whole Lands in favour of Hugh Mackay his younger brother, dated 20th April 1620 and died without issue."
