[11632] A History of the Descendants of David McKee, of Anahilt, states "An active business man, he was in public life as a member of the legislature for three sessions, 1865-7, and county commissioner for three terms, January, '82 to December, '90. The burning of the court house during his first term as commissioner threw upon him and his colleagues the responsibility for the new public buildings which, erected at a cost of nearly $2,500,000, are not only a monument to the skill of the architect, but an enduring testimonial to the sound judgment, integrity and business capacity of the commissioners. Mr. McKee made his home on the ancestral farm until '91, when he sold and mvoed to Pittsburgh. His new home is 5454 Stanton Avenue, E.E., Pittsburgh." (Children - Charles Horace, Louie Clara)
