[10154] The Book of McKee lists Anabel as a widow with three sons who assist Robert the Bruce and are given property in Kirkcudbright; sons are M'Kie, M'Clurg, and Muiredach from her several husbands, according to History of the House and Clan of Mackay, pg 36 - so M'Clury could have been by a husband of that name - the sons could have been called by the surnames of their fathers.

Name of husband is unknown; tradition says husband left when child was born; very likely she was never married. (Listed under maiden name on census and ship records.) Death date is taken from TIB card. Age 37 on 41 census - living with Evan James(Jones) age 85, and Charlotte, age 10, in Glynn hamlet. Age 50 on ship Buena Vista (#200161) (with Dan Jones company) traveling with Oven Jones age 72 (probably 90) and Charlotte age 17 (probably 19). Chr from Llangyndeyrne PR #105174 #4, dau of John Jones. In Wales the name Evan and John are completely interchangeable; it also appears that the surname was written James or Jones. Burial info from dau Charlotte personal info - she died in an epidemic. One other Mary chr in surrounding parishes from 1790 through 1830 was 11 years older. Charlotte (dau) gave birth year for her mother as 1809 on TIB.
If the christening information is correct that editors have brought forward, Charlotte was conceived through a relationship between her mother Mary James and Mary's youngest uncle, David James.
