[5888] History of the Lands and Their Owners in Galloway, FHL #941.49 H2m 1994, v 1, pg 365; p 239 states that William succeeded his father 3d Feb 1581. "William M'Culloch was twice married, which we gather from a charter under the Great Seal, dated 8th March 1584, wherein he is described as William M'Culloch of Myretoun, and Marie M'Culloch of Cardiness, his spouse. He thus married the heiress of Cardiness. What issue he had by both marriages we cannot learn, except one daughter, Janet, who by contract of Marriage, ______ 1578, married George M'Hivey (M'Haffie?) with consent of her mother and Mrs. Alison Dunbar."

From handwritten family group record of Ella May Winder Mackay (wife of Walter Scott Mackay)
Rentals of Castlereagh Estate 1801-1804 lists Thomas McKee with 2 plots in Lisbane in 1801 from lease dated 1759 for life of Robert Irwin and Hugh McKee 67 (His uncle Linen Hugh would be 67 in 1801) -- Because Thomas inherited Lisbane, he must have been the son of James, who inherited Lisbane from his father John. Thomas' son Thomas remained in Lisbane, as did his son John (Greer). John (Greer) had to be a younger son, because he did not inherit much property; in fact, he worked as a carpenter and had just a small plot of ground. Thomas and Elinor were married before the will of Elinor's father in 1781.
Thomas had a brother William who married Agnes Jamison. Thomas' granddaughter (daughter of son John) was named Agnes Jamison McKee.
